kottke.org posts about diary comics
Hi, it’s me, Edith, again! I’m back with one more comic before I sign off for a while. I know I haven’t actually been blogging recently, but I wanted to make a more official “goodbye for now” post in case anyone is like, Where did Edith go? Basically I think I bit off a little more than I could chew, blogging-wise. But it meant so much to me that Jason was willing to give it a shot.
Thank you for reading, big thanks to Jason for having me, and I hope to be back before too long (especially if Jason goes on vacation again or something 👀). And of course I’m not actually going anywhere, so I’ll see you in the comments!
Here are a couple from this past Eastertime. (Previously.)

Have you read it? What did you think?
Hello, Edith here! I usually post from six months ago, but I can’t resist sharing something from the other day.
Hello, and welcome to another Thursday Afternoon With Edith! I was off for a while in part because everyone in my family got Hand Foot and Mouth Disease, which was horrible. I’m also going through some crises of purpose and trying to figure out what to do with my life. 🤔 Solution forthcoming. But here are a couple comics from earlier this year; I’m skipping around a bit because the journal itself became pretty disjointed. (Previously.)
A mini Friday Afternoon With Edith, this time! Also, sorry the color is disappearing from these, the additional child kind of brought it back to black and white. (Previously.)
It’s another Thursday Afternoon With Edith! Here are some more comics from my journal, from last fall. (Previously.)
Hello! Here are a few more journal comics from last December, these are a bit cheerier than the ones from last week.
It’s time for another Thursday Afternoon With Edith! I’m still sharing these journal comics. Here’s one from the day I started guest-editing here, back in the fall.
It’s Thursday Afternoons With Edith again! I’ll probably stop saying that after today. Here’s another installment of comics from my journal, from back around Thanksgiving. Jury is still out on whether this is a winning Kottke.org feature, but in the meantime I do enjoy sharing them.
Welcome to Thursday Afternoons With Edith™! This is when Jason leaves the blog to me while he works on longer-term projects for the site. I’m thinking I’ll share some of my day-in-the-life comics here at these times, unless/until it starts to seem like a bad idea. I shared some back in November when I was guest-editing, and I’m basically picking up where those left off. I still wish I could hide most of them behind a “read more” button, though!
Final installment of this sampling from my journal! I’m not sure if it was a success, but it was interesting for me. Thank you for humoring!
Keeping on with this series… This one may be too much for one post, apologies! (Previously: Oct. 28 & 29, Oct. 30 & 31, Nov. 1 & 2, Nov. 3 & 4)
Note: Tooth discoloration turned out to be Goldfish buildup.
Some more day-in-the-life comics, with some coloring assists from my daughter.
Continuing on… I feel a little weird sharing these; I realize they may not be especially interesting. But, for now, more days in the life!
I’m enjoying sharing some of these more-recent comics on this site. This one basically picks up after yesterday’s left off. Maybe I will try to keep up a string of them until it’s time for me to go.
