Goodbye for Now! And a Diary Comic
Hi, it’s me, Edith, again! I’m back with one more comic before I sign off for a while. I know I haven’t actually been blogging recently, but I wanted to make a more official “goodbye for now” post in case anyone is like, Where did Edith go? Basically I think I bit off a little more than I could chew, blogging-wise. But it meant so much to me that Jason was willing to give it a shot.
Thank you for reading, big thanks to Jason for having me, and I hope to be back before too long (especially if Jason goes on vacation again or something π). And of course I’m not actually going anywhere, so I’ll see you in the comments!

Thank you, Edith! It's been really great having you as part of the site and I'm personally bummed that it didn't work out the way we hoped it would. But I'm looking forward to seeing what you're working on (πππ) and would definitely like to see you back here on the site when I'm travelling. π
Oooo, that final mermaid hair image!! Wow. Thanks for sharing your creations with us (me). Looking forward to next time.
Good luck with your next steps! It was really nice seeing your posts here. I especially loved the diary comics as I could absolutely relate to a lot of them as a parent myself! Take care!
Oh my goodness, I loved your posts and your diary comics so much and will miss your contributions to this site. Hope to see more of your work in the future
Your comics are a joy, Edith β¨
Just goodbye for now. Hope to see you and your work come around again.
I've loved these, Edith. The reflection and change of pace catches me every time. See you back here soon, I hope
Iβve loved getting to know you here. Be kind to yourself in this new phase of life - my first year with two small kids was a doozy. It gets easier, they get more independent, and you regain some of your independence too. β€οΈ
yes, this. when they start playing adjacent to one another, that's some major relief. first years with two were tough, particularly in hindsight.
You and your wonderful posts will be very missed. I canβt help but put in one last plug for publishing these as a bookβ¦ and/or running an online course for those of us who want to learn to make our own diary comics!
I will picture you floating away, mermaid hair swaying, into the distance. I've so enjoyed your writing and drawings here!
Thank you for your posts!
Thanks, all! These were really nice to read. π
I've been away so missed this when it came out. Please let me add my thanks for your contributions, especially your diary comics. The (to my mind anyway) emotional honesty in them along with the amazing pictorial style made them something I looked forward to every week. Again, all I can say is thank you.

This is the name that'll be displayed next to comments you make on kottke.org; your email will not be displayed publicly. I'd encourage you to use your real name (or at least your first name and last initial) but you can also pick something that you go by when you participate in communities online. Choose something durable and reasonably unique (not "Me" or "anon"). Please don't change this often. No impersonation.
Note: I'm letting folks change their display names because the membership service that kottke.org uses collects full names and I thought some people might not want their names displayed publicly here. If it gets abused, I might disable this feature.
If you feel like this comment goes against the grain of the community guidelines or is otherwise inappropriate, please let me know and I will take a look at it.
