Let’s get this out of the way: Olivia Colman will be great as Mrs. Bennet in the new Pride and Prejudice series; here’s the trailer. But the rest of it has some awfully large shoes to fill — both the 1995 and 2005 adaptations are rightly beloved.

With an admission of both extreme reboot fatigue and the BCC mini series P&P being my chosen fave of the lot, I'm very okay with having recently seen gobs of Olivia Colman in Wicker and calling it good.
(Also, do go see Wicker. A delightful, hilarious, old-fashioned folk fairy tale, modernized just enough. And the noise Wicker Husband makes as he moves is really something in a theater.)
The BBC mini-series is one of my favorite things ever made, so I agree. This looks a bit like Bridgerton got Downton Abbey pregnant in the brambles. I love Olivia Coleman, but I just can't with any more reboots. I also cancelled Netflix years ago and am not about to renew for this.
