Am…am I “alternatively influential”? Defined roughly as “public thinkers and tastemakers who have real clout in their own demesnes despite only modest internet followings”.

Yes you are. Very much so. The curation of the Internet, your taste, and your opinions you share here are important and positively influential. You are greatly appreciated by many people. Please keep up the very good work you do here at kottke.org.

Absolutely. I particularly value your book recommendations. I'm a voracious book reader and, based on the books you recommend here, I'm very confident our tastes overlap a lot.

I have also selected a few streaming series to watch with my wife based on your suggestions, too.

(If you haven't deduced it yet, I love your "media diet" posts.)

I probably click through and read 30-50% of the links posted here.

So, yes, you're "alternatively influential."
