Although now that I think of it, they did do that to Cyrano Jones because of the troubles he caused with his tribbles.

It's interesting to think that if the USS Enterprise were real, that draft would actually better reflect the reality of its mission, which would probably be pretty mundane on the whole. Obviously I'm glad they transcended that!

That split infinitive still bothers me. They just as easily could have said "To go boldly"—which emphasizes "boldly"—without hindering the impact.
