For the last 15+ years, I’ve been a creative television exec at both production companies and cable networks. Basically, either coming up with ideas for shows, developing them, and trying to sell them so I can produce them, or taking pitches, developing the best ones, and trying to get them on air so I can oversee them. Before that, I was an in-the-trenches producer, starting with a long run in entertainment news, and then moving on to more traditional unscripted stuff. The trick is that I’ve been working in tv/content long enough that I ended up with an SVP title, which, whenever I apply for a job that catches my eye. automatically makes me overqualified in the eyes of whatever AI filter media companies use to go through candidates.

At this point in my career, I’d love to find a role where I can take all of the skills and knowhow that I built up working in tv, and apply them in a new way. That, or maybe I can convince someone to look past any titles I may have earned and let me take a step back so I can crush roles that may not seem like a good fit on paper - news, sports, talk, etc.
