Black and Blue and Read All Over
Hey folks. I crashed my bike this weekend and as such I’m a little banged up (neck & wrist injuries). I’m mostly fine but I don’t know how much desk/mouse/typing time I can manage today. I’m gonna give it a shot though because I need some distraction and something else to do besides watch TV, lay flat on my back, and listen to podcasts. If I tap out early today, now you know what’s up. ✌️

hope you feel better soon! bike injuries are no joke
Aw man! I hope you're able to find some time for R and R, Jason! All the best to you and yours ????
Jason, I'm so sorry! Sending prayers your way ✨ Hope you heal quick!
Sorry to hear. Speedy recovery!
Sending healing vibes! And barring that maybe you could try a voice dictated post and make us laugh a little.
So sorry to hear this - hope you have a smooth recovery!
Fellow mountain bikers want to hear about the crash. Was it an epic and video-worthy yard sale, or a low-speed screwup with high consequences (I broke my wrist at like 3 mph)?
Either way, my condolences. Eating dirt is rarely fun.
Universal Reflexive Reaction: was it epic? (And if it wasn't, make the story epic!)
Geez, I forgot the most important question:
Is your bike OK?
It was pretty epic – knuckled a jump, had to dive into a ditch to avoid hitting a tree (bike patrol guy: “trees are undefeated”), slammed my helmeted head into a rock. All in all, pretty lucky to have gotten off so lightly.
Bike seems fine, thanks for asking. ????
Deep sympathies. My wife crashed 10 months ago on her bike, hit her head, etc. The post-concussion stuff has been very real -- if you're not already, consider being proactive about healin' the noggin.'
Argh! Though, I think you were supposed to take some ibuprofen, maybe a few other things, and get back on the cycle and find flow immediately to reduce long term impact of the crash!!! (jk jk jk).
I've crashed a few bikes and I've always come out worse than the bikes, however I think I've always looked at the bike more closely then myself immediately after the crash, goofy humans.
I've gotta say, this is impressive restraint from my fellow mountain bikers in the replies in not adding in their "oh yeah - that's rough; reminds me of the time I went over this ..... " 😂
Take care, Jason - hope you're able to get back on the bike shortly.
Sorry to hear this Jason! Sending healing vibes to you and I hope you feel better soon.
Hope you feel better soon Jason!
Get well soon!
Wishing you a speedy recovery Jason. I listened to this podcast the last time I was under the weather.

'You should have seen the other... object I was apparently in conflict with?'
Woof! Glad you’re moving gingerly now. Take your time, bodies release impact on their own schedule.
Feel better Jason. I hope you injuries heal up quickly and you're able to spend time on nourishing things in your recovery.
Glad you're okay, Jason! Welcome to the society of the injured on bikes by not-bikes. Rest up!
