Subscribed!! Each week when mine arrives, I scan the table of contents and I use a Sharpie to circle whatever looks good. If nothing catches my eye, I read the cartoons and recycle it. Then I place the magazine, with cover folded back so that ToC is the "cover", in my stack of The New Yorkers. The ambition is to grab one when I've got a moment, instead of endlessly scrolling through stupid crap on my phone. The reality is that the stack currently goes back to March 6, 2023. And looking at it my circled selection from that issue right now, "The Price of Belief: Unravelling the Wirecard scandal" by Ben Taub doesn't sound compelling anymore. A newsletter sounds like a sensible approach. Thank you.
I don't know -- that's a pretty impressive method!
The Wirecard story made the cut for me, but I think I listened to the Audm reading while I did yard work. It was like a Mission Impossible movie with all the action scenes replaced with clerical work. I only get the New Yorker electronically, so I scan the ToC for decent titles and then poke through it. I wish there was a little more detail in the ToC itself though. It’s tough to know what’s what and I tend to just read what bubbles to Twitter or Bluesky about half the time. I’ll subscribe to this too.
