Yes, new Google employees are called Nooglers and they get a propellor beanie when hired.
“… by the geek, for the geek…”
And they’ll laugh all the way to the bank. The thing about Google that I love is that they’re giving entrenched players like Microsoft and Sun a run for their money. If Google wins, then in a decade or two we’ll need someone to give them a run for their money, but we can cross that bridge then.
I swear on my computer, Kottke, that if all this Google broswer/Google IM speculation doesn’t pan out, I’ll blame you for my shattered hopes.
Oh, and nerdy * 10^100 = that hat.
My company gives out copies of TCP/IP for Dummies to everyone on the Development team. The legend
goes that a developer was in a meeting and didn’t know what TCP/IP was so the president made it required
reading. Everyone has a copy on their desk.
Do the new employees have to the hat for a certain amount of time after they are hired.
They should be called n00glers really :P
That is me wearing that beanie.
We only wear it for the company meeting Friday.
