I first played it on a 386 b/w laptop in Portland, Oregon, circa 1994, shortly after I got married. Living in a small apartment with feral cats living under the deck, right off of Hawthorne st. I will never live in a hipper neighborhood. That game made me dizzy when I walked away from it.

Anyone remember 'Rise of the Triad'?

I remember when that game shattered all my views of Wolfenstein 3D realisticness.

Have you seen the Doom 3 trailer? You may have to keep the lights on.

Thanks for this link Jason. I don't really make it a point to look at gaming sites all that much (my online time has been cut down since of late), and I'd have missed this if you hadn't linked. Incidently, this momentous occasion prompted a blog post of my own. Thanks. :) Doom was a major part of my childhood.
