The official trailer for season three of Silo. Looks like we finally get some origin story stuff (well, more than a brief scene at least).

I'm dubious about the soap-opera "amnesia" plot device. It makes me feel the previous season's storylines we cared about will be set aside until a convenient twist restores her memory in the penultimate episode. I'll start yelling at the TV if every episode is sprinkled with haunting flashbacks.
Oh golly. I’m usually not one to pull a that’s-not-how-it-happened-in-the-books, but that’s not how it happened in the books.
Oof - I have been pleasantly surprised by how well this show has adapted the source material thus far. But based on the trailer, this does seem like a huge departure. Here's hoping they pull it off.
I've been on a sci-fi reading bender lately and just picked up a copy of Wool. I've only seen Season 1 of Silo, but it's been very faithful to the book so far and I'm really enjoying it. The scale of the silo in the book seems to be significantly more immense than the show conveys, but could be a matter of interpretation. Trying to decide if my brain can handle book and show simultaneously or if I should finish one before the other.
I read the book years ago and loved it. I thought they did a great job with the scale of the silo except for two things.
1) I think the footprint of the silo is right but I envisioned it being much more claustrophobic and not have very many open areas. The TV show silo seems to have many areas that resemble small arenas.
2) The steps were steel in the book. They were hollow on the backside which was very memorable in the book when she got to the flooded tunnel.
Otherwise I like their take on the silo. I guess I could complain about the unnecessary steps and landings in some of the passageways which seem unlikely to exist in an actual underground silo, but that doesn't go against the book in any way.
I have to read these books now
I don't understand why someone decides to adapt an excellent book or series and then just goes, "you know what, how about this happens instead." Sure you have to tweak some details but that's a big change
Agreed! Justice Department? WTF is with that?
