A Catalog of an Entire House/Life

In a period of four years, Belgian photographer Barbara Iweins took a photo of every single thing in her house, “from my daughters torn sock to my sons Lego, but also my vibrator, my anxiolytics… absolutely everything. 12,795 photos of 12,795 objects.” You can explore the entire archive here, indexed and classified by color, material, frequency of use, room, and “what I would save in a fire”. This reminds me of the Peter Menzel photo project Material World, where he takes pictures of families around the world with all of their possessions outside their homes.

This reminds me of the BBC TV Show "Sort Your Life Out" which helps families declutter their houses.

All of their possessions are organised and laid out in a giant warehouse so they can pick out the things that truly matter to them.

Here's a clip of the warehouse reveal: https://youtu.be/gXvu30OhGzA?t=103

When I scrolled through the items I felt like I was perusing my Animal Crossing inventory. So clever and fun.
