“A half-century after it was published, The Soul of a New Machine does a better job challenging AI hype than most current criticism.” I thought something similarly (about the web) when I read Kidder’s book 25 years ago, during the aftermath of the dot com bust.

Thanks for this. I had the chance to get to know Kidder a little bit when he was researching a different book idea, one he never wrote. An incredibly kind and humble guy, who had by that point had a ton of success, and still had time for a naive and curious 20-something. Grateful for him, and you, Jason. Hang in there.
