Remember the “scroll lock” key on your keyboard? What the heck was it for? And why is the same scrolling mechanic showing up in streaming service interfaces?

This is great and I finally learned what scroll lock was for!
I didn't know either, even though my dad bought the first version of Lotus 1-2-3 when it came out — for $495! I spent a lot of time as a kid monkeying around with spreadsheets.
I do enjoy a full size keyboard but as I type this I'm looking at the entirely untouched "Print Screen", "Scroll Lock" and "Pause/Break" buttons and wondering what better use could be made of the space. 3 programmable keys for those who want to dip their toe into customisation?
