The Taco Bell 50k Ultramarathon was run in Denver over the weekend. Competitors must eat at 9 out of 10 Taco Bells along the route. “By the 4th stop, all entrants must have consumed at least one (1) Chalupa Supreme or one Crunchwrap Supreme…”

The whole idea of food consumption as a competitive activity is completely antithetical to mental health. We're glorifying disordered eating. That is, IMNSVHO, FUBAR.
They ran very close to my house, and we happened to be biking by as the race progressed. We really didn't know what it was, but all the runners we saw looked extremely into it. I'm not going to lie, when we saw a dude eating a taco as he ran, we were pretty confused. Pretty awesome, really.
I've been doing something on my own for the last three years around Thanksgiving. I try to eat at every McDonald's in Manhattan, on foot, in 24 hours. It's about four dozen restaurants across 33 miles. I'm mostly eating apple slices. It took me 23 hours and change the first two years and 15 hours last year.
