I wish they would have said more about how he came upon the 500K...
I was glad they at least mentioned the “generous neighbor.” Not directly addressed: the $4k a month of Substack income. Still seemed like an interesting intellectual and embodied project.
I would be curious to see a documentary about radical neighbouring on a limited budget. My mom lives in a small neighborhood where they have a community garden and anyone in the neighborhood can "work a little, take a little". I bet there are a bunch of examples like this that are more within reach for all of us to consider replicating...
