John Nichols remembers his colleague & friend, the legendary journalist Bill Moyers. “I can’t help but think that Bill Moyers was the best president we never had.”

Bill Moyers, Daniel Schorr, Gwen Ifill, a few others...

Growing up, I noted a different tone when these people spoke. A two-feet-firmly-planted, eyes open appraisal of our government, whether short-sighted, taking chances for better or worse, failing to serve its citizens, or making choices to celebrate or sully the humanity that might grow uniquely here, of all places. I miss them dearly.

Fresh Air did a great remembrance of Bill Moyers.
