I recall an article from the late 90's or early aughts (I think it might have been in Wired) which grappled with the definition of "computer". As a broader array of devices became capable of performing computing tasks of one sort or another, how were we to draw the line between what was and was not a "computer"? The article concluded, only half-jokingly, that from now on they were going to define a "computer" as "anything that could be made to play Doom."
