Some advice from Old Man Kottke: if you need readers, get some with good lenses. I had some cheapo ones that gave me eye strain, so I ordered these from Caddis and they’re like 100 times better.

look at this young whippersnapper with their single vision lenses! Must be nice to not need dual surface dominant eye stigmatism adaptive progressives!

i had a pair of these! wonderful. sadly were crushed in the couch one night, but definitely highly recommended

Love my caddis readers. Built to last. 20% off sale right now too

I wear extremely complicated daily contact lenses but also need readers for, well, reading etc. But why doesn't caddis make similarly low-profile frames as the cheapo readers? I don't need full lens readers, I just need little rectangles that I perch precariously on my nose periodically.

If any of you are putting readers over your daily wear glasses I recommend biting the bullet and getting progressive lenses. They're sheer misery for about two weeks, but then you get used to them and you feel ten years younger because you're not squinting at everything.

I'd buy more expensive reading glasses if I didn't constantly lose them. The cheapies from Walgreeens have to do the trick until I completely give in and lose all my dignity and put my readers on a chain around my neck like a cranky school marm... with a beard.

Progressive lenses and bifocals are an excuse to fall up the stairs. No thanks.

Yeh it's a real problem. I hate my glasses. They make me feel unsteady and old. I can't believe that this hasn't been sorted yet.

Hey, thanks Jason. I just ordered these with the Discount this weekend. Iโ€™m so looking forward to it. I like my $15 ones from the grocery store, but since you raved about the lenses, you sold me!

What's the distance on these? I like my "computer" glasses -- good for reading a laptop or book on my lap, rather than held up in front of my face...

Matt Maggard

thanks for this! I've been using crappy readers from the pharmacy and hate them. I've been looking for something legit and willing to pay an appropriate price - going to give these a try!

for what it's worth, I enjoy the brand Peepers, which have high-quality readers and progressive bifocals for much less than these Caddis.

I love Caddis! Also, I feel like readers don't age me but having my phone's font size set to 180% and watching everyone under 40 go 'WHOAH!' when they see it totally does.
