This post (and these two others) are my attempts to try and talk myself into believing that Trump is in some way cooked. I remain unconvinced.

This, from Tressie McMillan Cottom, is much closer to how I am feeling about the situation:

[Trump] campaigned to gain power, which he has done. He didn't promise to deliver on those campaign promises — only to keep and use power. That's his pact w/voters.

So one way to resolve the liberal tension of "how can he poll so low and still have so much support"?? He is delivering on what he really promised — he is keeping and using power. That's what his voters want, so far consequences be damned.

Also? Give me a break on polling frigging Donald Trump like we are in a rational intuitional field. 😂😂

I'm also not convinced that a not-insignificant number of liberals aren't also enjoying his use of power. Or aren't benefiting from it. Let the unpopular crazy guy do the hard stuff you wanted done etc.
