“In the 1980s and 1990s, PC Connection built its brand on a campaign starring folksy small-town critters. They’ll still charm your socks off.”

I don't remember these. I DO remember the Gateway 2000 ads. The company was formed by two guys in South Dakota, and their ads had cheezy farm-related themes. Guys in bovine outfits and cowboy hats, and so on.

Every month, when I got my BYTE magazine in the mail, was to turn to the Gateway 2000 ads, and check the prices on the latest top-of-the-line 386/33 PC clone. I bought quite a few computers from them.

I had forgotten PC and Mac Connection had flat rate overnight shipping. Apparently via Airborne, acquired by DHL in 2003. I remember many times ordering quite late, as they had a 3 a.m. ET cutoff for next day! $5!
