I think my favorite post-apocalyptic orb has to be Chris Burden's Medusa's Head. (Yes, that Chris Burden.)
Also worth your attention: the apocalyptic spheres of Arnaldo Pomodoro, an Italian sculptor who's been making similar objects since the '60s.
I love those. The one on the campus of Trinity College is just 🤯.
