This is so cool. Well made and cared for cymbals last forever (I use a hi hat made in West Germany).
In the '70s, Avedis III made his son Armand the president of the company, which led to a falling out with Armand's brother, Robert.
Robert Zildjian started Sabian cymbals in Canada, using the initials of his three children, Sally, Andy, and Billy. Andy Zildjian is now president of Sabian. (I suspect they have the secret formula, too!)
