A universal “Plug and Charge” framework for EV charging is rolling out next year. The goal is this: “You just go anywhere you want, boom, you plug in, it accounts for everything in the cloud, charges your card, and you walk away.”

This is such incredible news! I have like, 8 different apps on my phone for all the different branded chargers, most of which I have only used once.

Not suuuuuuuuper related to this actual article, but did anyone see that The Verge started a sub payment, pretty similar to Jason's here? Anyone already pay for Vox outright? Anyone not, but gonna sub to The Verge? *Shifting to totally related, agreed with Caroline, I'd love for the infrastructure to get better. I charge at home 99% of the time, but on the road trips we've taken, in the West, but NOT CA? Woof, it's rough.

Randall Munroe has already told us what will happen. https://xkcd.com/927/

This is EXACTLY what I thought when I read the piece, too.
