Best TV Shows of 2024. Shogun, My Brilliant Friend, The Day of the Jackal, and What We Do in the Shadows all make the list. (Shogun would be my top pick.)

Somebody Somewhere is the show that I need right now. Sweet, warm, poignant and Bridget Everett is so powerful. It is killing me that HBO/Max has decided to end the show at the current season. The show must cost less than a single scene of Dune Prophecy; what a shame.

Seconded on "Somebody Somewhere" - it is one of the best in this crop of shows about nuanced people who are struggling and persevering in some way. I also really like "Shrinking" a lot, for the same reason. It's less sunny than Ted Lasso and is a really good model of people trying to take care of each other (emphasis on trying). "Blue Lights" is great for when you're in witdrawl from "Line of Duty."
