If you're looking for more black artists covering the Beatles, Fluxblog put together a great playlist a year or two ago. On Apple Music and Spotify.
I wish covers done in the studio were a larger part of the culture now. I feel like they're generally rare, but they always open up some new aspect of the song to me. I saw Kacey Musgraves recently and her cover of SZA's perfect Kill Bill was terrific. Even the set up was hilarious.
