A pilot program in Copenhagen was designed to encourage tourists “to act a bit more responsibly and think about their impact on the environment” during visits. Visitors got free lunch for urban farm work or free kayak rental for trash cleanup.

Sigh. On a recent visit to Amsterdam, the locals were unanimous in believing that literally ALL the problems of Amsterdam were due to high Americans. Bikes speeding through groups of pedestrians at 30 km? No, that's not dangerous at all! It's the high Americans getting in the way! Trash, crime, a rainy day? Yup. High Americans.
