If I recall correctly, Gilead had nothing to do with the development of this drug and simply bought the patent. They are cartoon villains and we are long overdue for a more affordable solution.
I'm tempted to ask how people sleep at night, knowing that they chose massive profits over saving lives. But I realize the answer is that they sleep just fine. If they can't summon the basic humanity to make this drug affordable to all who need it, then someone needs to make that decision for them
