While Gently Insightful Immigration Throuple was by far my favorite movie of this last year, Multiversal Color Immersion Therapy was clearly snubbed.
Does anyone have a translation for these? They look very funny, but I'm not very movie literate. I'm guessing:
Bright-Pink Masterpiece: Barbie
Pretentious Atomic Amadeus: Oppenheimer
Questionably-Structured 3.5 Hour Masterpiece: Killers of the Flower Moon?
Bizarro Slutty Barbie: Poor Things?
Extrovert Tàr: Maestro?
I don't know the others.
Gently Insightful Immigration Throuple: Past Lives
French Legal Nightmare: Anatomy of a Fall
Have You Read Erasure?: American Fiction
'70s Character Showcase: The Holdovers
Extreme Home Makeover: Fascism: The Zone of Interest
Another vote here for Gently Insightful Immigration Throuple.
We just watched 70s character showcase tonight. So good. A classic "they don't make em this way anymore" flick.
Echo this - just watched it yesterday and was thinking how nice it was to just watch a really well-done, character-based drama movie
Definitely: Perfect Day

This is the name that'll be displayed next to comments you make on kottke.org; your email will not be displayed publicly. I'd encourage you to use your real name (or at least your first name and last initial) but you can also pick something that you go by when you participate in communities online. Choose something durable and reasonably unique (not "Me" or "anon"). Please don't change this often. No impersonation..
Note: I'm letting folks change their display names because the membership service that kottke.org uses collects full names and I thought some people might not want their names displayed publicly here. If it gets abused, I might disable this feature.
