Just a short post of appreciation for The Kid Should See This. I was just looking at their top nav and it reminded me of the old school bounty of the original Yahoo! directory. 6000+ videos for curious learners of all ages. ๐

Hear hear! What a gem!
I just opened it up and had to restrain myself from taking the next hour to watch videos.
Kottke introduced The Kid Should See This to me before I had a kiddo, and it has been a huge part of our growing up as a mother and child. I welcome this appreciation post and send it back wholeheartedly!
I remember once when our kids were little watching a video there about making your own vortex cannon out of a box. We had fun for days knocking over cup pyramids until the box was destroyed from so much use. Your blog introduced me to their site, so thank you!

This is the name that'll be displayed next to comments you make on kottke.org; your email will not be displayed publicly. I'd encourage you to use your real name (or at least your first name and last initial) but you can also pick something that you go by when you participate in communities online. Choose something durable and reasonably unique (not "Me" or "anon"). Please don't change this often. No impersonation..
Note: I'm letting folks change their display names because the membership service that kottke.org uses collects full names and I thought some people might not want their names displayed publicly here. If it gets abused, I might disable this feature.
If you feel like this comment goes against the grain of the community guidelines or is otherwise inappropriate, please let me know and I will take a look at it.
