This would be more interesting if it were on a per-capita basis, rather than a straight $$$ basis, because of course NY and California are always going to be the most heavily donated state no matter how you slice the candidates.

Also because those counties in Wyoming are frickin' huge and even Texas, for instance, has bigger low capita areas compared to the tiny counties of densely populated New Jersey.
