Seems like a pretty partly upgrade - perhaps forced to coincide with the new "Creative Suite" release.

Well, it was also recoded to work more efficiently with 64-bit processors (in particular, the G5) - at least that's what I read here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/applications/adobe/ Also, several of the additions look like they'll be very useful for digital photographers. The layer comp sets sounds amazing - I can't tell how many times I've wished there was a feature like that.

I love how the news is the new version of Photoshop, not the Creative Suite itself, which Adobe (rightly and smartly) has worked hard on integrating tightly, much like Macromedia's sperb MX suite, which has only gotten better with its 2004 iteration.
Photoshop is rightly the king of its domain, but the excessive hero-worship it receives is nauseating.
