As the article says: "On the game cartridge is a solar sensor and when your GBA is in the sun..." What it fails to mention despite the excellent opportunity to snark is that a GBA is just about unplayable UNLESS it is lit by sunlight. The screen is essentially a black square with dim shapes vaguely moving around somewhere in its depths.
