Why Star Wars Galaxies sucks.

I paide $25 extra for a stupid "Collector's Edition" which was full of crap. A dumb booklet that has stupid pictures, a stupid pewter statue of a girl, a patch, button, and some other lame items. I've been waiting months for the game; so i pre-order and get stuck with stupid down servers. Also, the $15 a month charge is ridiculous. The multi-billion dollar company, Lucas Arts, and for that matter, all STAR WARS has become money hungry and greedy. They charge on the STARWARS.com website for "insider" pictures and information. $5 a month would be more than profitable from the millions upon millions of people going to play this stupid game. My wait was definately not worth it. Thanks for making a site for blowing off some steam. F*ck you GEORGE LUCAS!

JohnJul 02, 2003 at 4:27PM

George Lucas didn't make this game. Sony Online Entertainment And Lucasarts did. Believe it or not Mr. Lucas isnt directly affiliated with Lucasarts, the President there is Simon Jeffery. Other than that, I have to Agree with onepissedoffmofo.

Hey, would you be interested in trading your Starwars for Shadowbane? If you end up not liking Shadowbane you could sell it. Either way, its an even trade. =). Get back to me.

I'll tell you what. I have never in my life seen a game that has more down time than uptime. Jesus if I ran a network the way these shoddy morons at Sony do I would be fired in like 5 minutes. Come on .. who cares if good old George is not involved.? It makes him look like a big idiot for even being involved in any way. I have got a total of MAYBE 10 hours of playtime since the day of its release. Even then it was in small chunks. Again tonight server craps out for 2 hours... up for 2 hours.. Then takes another dive at like 10 p.m. I can't believe this. Personally I would be embarrassed to put that I even touched their server farm.

onepissed off mofo you are a fucking idiot. no one forced you to choose the collector's edition so i don't see why you're so mad, what the hell did you expect it to include anyway? And as for the $15/month charge most of the MMORPGs now have a fee to pay the producers for creating updates and maintaining the servers (even if they don't do it perfectly).

ZurdokJul 12, 2003 at 8:49PM

The game just sucks, im paying for the game and for the server, the least we can expect for that stupid fee is that the servers be up and running 24/7

mJul 14, 2003 at 9:58PM

at least you got to play
mine never worked
oh yeah eb refuses to let me return it

WildBillJul 21, 2003 at 2:34AM

Some a$$kissers of the game devs will tell you that the game will be awesome in a few months...a few months? If the game had so many holes, hey shouldn't have starting shipping. But once again the money hungary people at Sony would rather us first gamers put up with a half-ass product so they can collect extra funds. This only begins to state my frustration. Besides the down servers, the lack of customer service, and overall lack of content. I'm pissed because the wonderful folks running this crap won't even tell us how to unlock our Force Sensative slot. Look you don't see movies like "Return of the Artisan" or the "Entertainer Strikes Back." I want to become a jedi, and was somehow suckered into believing it was possible. I was obviously wrong. Not only will they not tell us how to do it, they do tell us that noone in the years of beta could even unlock. Makes you think that maybe the system is wack. I say, swipe all the servers, take one day of complete downtime for all servers, fix the problems, and see how it goes.

SWG is a pitiful game with hardly anything to do except grind or chat. They call it the next gen mmorpg, but really it incorparates many mistakes other games have made YEARS AGO. In other words, they all lack talent, every single dev lacks imagination and it is easy to see in the poor quality of their game. Holo and Q are the worse sorry bastards, you should see how many excuses they make to cover up for their lack of intelligence.

Don't ever, ever buy this piece of shit game.

discreteAug 20, 2003 at 2:20AM

I swear - it took me four days to install the game (kept crashing on install). Then, once it installed it was at least 30 additional mins before I could do anything (downloading patches). Finally after creating a character, and end up in the 'training' ship - which was just about useless and OH SO BORING. Finally, reaching a planet I find the same BORING crap. The graphics in this game are horrid, the game play is extreamly slow and complicated (thus BORING). I mean, I have a life outside the game world - so I don't want to spend years building a character that I can at least do something usefull or fun with. Who wants to spend the entire time getting resources?!? This isn't real life here - this is a FREAKIN' GAME and it should provide entertainment - no the same boring shit I do every day in real life!

I have purchased a few games this year - and this one rates as 'trash heap' - meaning I played it once for about 30mins and I won't ever play it again. So on the shelf this game will go and it will never return to my PC again. Ripped off for $50 bucks (or what ever I paid for the damn game) - won't purchase another Starwars game ever again (is it me - or do all these freakin' Starwars games just suck ass?).

My first MMORPG game - and probably my last (however I will give World of Warcraft a chance - I mean it is blizzard right?). Man, I think the most frustrating feature was the damn navigation - come on - hasn't anyone who worked on this game played Quake or Unreal? FLOW people - the FLOW is everything. Right click to run? Have the lost their minds? Alt key to access the freakin' menus? Have they lost their minds? Radial menus? WTF is that? A new UI element I haven't heard of before?

I am sorry if you purchase the game - and maybe some people just like being bored or like to waist huge amounts of time (at $15 a month) - but not me. It wasn't even a "nice try" - the game had a lot of 'talk' before it was released and it was all bull shit. Matter of fact, I might not even purchase the damn gaming magazines any more because they said SWG should be good. This game is the main reason why stores won't accept returned software - everyone would eventually return this game. I wonder how much they invested in the game - cuz they are going to lose their ass on it. Too bad for Sony - they are already in a world of hurt and I believe this will deal a very damaging blow to their bottom line next year.

Thanks for letting me vent!

I WANTED to like this game when it first came out.

But, damn, they sure made it hard to enjoy. The cut and dry of it is this: This game blows with gale force winds.

The incorporate all these races as NPCs, so you run around and SEE them, but you can't BE them. Want to be a jawa? Ewok? Ithorian? We've got the graphics, the mesh and the animations... but you can't be them.

You can't be a Jedi. I know part of the thrill is waiting around to become a Jedi. But if I want to spend 15 bucks a month and MAYBE get what I want- I'll buy lottery tickets, thanks.

Essenitally you run around and shoot things. Over and over. The same things. Or you build things. Over and over. The same things.

If you feel like buying this game, do yourself a favor. Save 50 bucks. Give me 10 bucks and I will bash you in the face with a claw hammer. You will enjoy it more and you will save 40 bucks.

Who CaresAug 29, 2003 at 5:22PM

I finally bought mine, and then a minimum of $15.00 more a month, and they want to send me SPAM, F That. I'm finished buying Lucas Arts Stuff. Thank god there is EA Games and Westwood C&C. We like in a Democracy and I can stop buying they're stuff. BAn Lucas Arts and they will go out of business. Who ever designed this game should be fired. They are worse than AOL. Later Best Buy send me my money back. I'm no longer wasting my time. (Ops I never started due to being to POed with the account costs.) Good luck to you all. Lucas I used to respest you now I rank you down there with Bill Gates. You'll be dead in the next 20 years, good riddance.

SikniceCoolMiahSep 03, 2003 at 11:06AM

Man what a rip, this game sucks so much ass, its like evercrap on steroids. Small maps, no content, broken in game items, server crashes, bugfest from hell, pitiful support, and what the fuck is the Jedi lottery system all about who the hell wants to pay 15.00 a month to be a fucking rebel drudge? or an imperial nobody? Fuck Sony, Fuck Verant, and Fuck all the fanbois who propegated the popularity for this insult of a game. I will NEVER pay for another Star Wars anything you guys cheated your fans and I hope you wind up homeless and starving on the street you fan leeches. All MMORPG game companies should take good note, games and companies like this are RUINING the MMO game arenas.

IPwnJ00UberN00bsSep 06, 2003 at 9:39PM

Are you guys totally drunk or just 12 years old and fuckin suck at the game? SWG owns every other MMRPG out there. That's why like every respectable gaming magazine gave it almost perfest to perfest scores out there. You newbie FPS'ers just come along hope for a fast paced game you can grab a gun and start shootin but somethat that actually take time and pateince and real skillz you start bitchin like little girls with skinned knees and shit. I won't even touch you kids that piss and moan about the 15 buck a month fee. thats pocket change. spam mail? I get none, you're full of shit so that deals with that. and that newbie who was crying that they dont tell you how to open your slot? what the fuck kinda star wars universe is one with 15,000 jedis running around. this is post clone wars, all the jedis are dead you idiots. ktnxgg newbs.

JesusHatesCheeseSep 08, 2003 at 2:59AM

You know what pisses me off about Galaxies? The fact that I RUSHED to the fucking store to get it, and not even thinking that my ATI Rage pro 128 wasn't good enough to be supported by the game. So I'm lucky enough to not even be able to try the fucking thing, let alone form an opinion about the game play. From what I've seen so far, the list of unsupported cards is fucking insane. So it seems not only do I have to invest in the game and the monthly memberhip, I have to buy a new fucking video card if I even want to see it in action. From all the comments I've seen so far, I'd rather shoot myself then play the game. And if you ask me 15 a month is way to high, when I can go play Fighter Ace for example for $9.99 a month. Do the math Sony is making millions off of just server time! Anyway......Fuck em!

Little RichardSep 08, 2003 at 7:29PM

Dude this game fucking sucks. I had some fun PKing for a bit, but all those faggots in the bars and shit just hang out and dance and it really fucking sucks. It's a fucking chat room, it requires no skill, just a lot of time that could be better spent doing something like playing a good Star Wars game, like Jedi Outcast and Academy, and Knights of the Old Republic. This game just fucking sucks. It's a waste of money, I'm glad my brother bought it not me.

Jee'kaSep 11, 2003 at 5:57AM

Damn, this is some fun ass shit about this game. You people should shut the fuck up. All u that dis the game are people that don't under stand the game u fags. ya, of course its going to be bugged out and shit, the fucking thing just came out. This is the most realistic Star Wars game they've came out with. Requires no skill, u become a fucking jedi, skill my ass bitch. some things i do agree with but i'm still giving it time. so ssSHHUT the fuck up bitch! Fuck i care u dont play, less stupid ass bitches in the game. and if it takes u 4 fucking hours to install the game , u r one BIG mother fucking ass moron!

To be completely honest with you I waited so long for this game to come out. I hyped it up so bad. I hated Everquest and thought maybe this game could be different. Damn was I wrong. I feel I have wasted countless hours playing this game. I love Star Wars but I absolutely HATE this game and everything about it, the bugs, the lack of gameplay, the lack of satisfaction, etc. But what I hate most of all are the idiots running LucasArts. I mean, come on - $15 a month for a ridiculous unfinished game and all the other fees that come along with it. Shame.

Bingo LongSep 16, 2003 at 7:01PM

This game is a turd in a box. What a waste of a 15 cent blank CD! Thank goodness I didn't spend EIGHTY FUCKING DOLLARS for the bonus version just so I could get a gay ass patch. All the towns look the same and the lag gets bad when more that 10 people are in the same area. The servers constantly crash and they aren't getting any better. But the worst is WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU DO? You go out and kill or craft or dance like a faggot and get to master in a month of average game play. Then what? There's NOWHERE to go then. A Grandmaster scout is not that great of an accomplishment and you can't do anything with him anyway, except go out and kill more zebras or wild boars.

You know, in the movies, the rebels hid from the empire because the stormtroopers would wax their asses if they saw them. Well here they stand next to each other. There are REBEL RECRUITING TERMINALS in the middle of Mos Eisley!!!! And stormtroopers are within pissing distance. What a great Star Wars feel! Then you go out into the desert and there are all these thief camps that spawn on top of each other so you can't attack the camp and the mobs walk around with a thumb enema so you can pick them off to about 1/3rd health before they decide to shoot @ you. Then you go to a different world and get your ass kicked by a damned BUTTERFLY! Who in the hell made the decisions here?

The dumbest thing is that mobs don't drop anything but junk. All the weapons have to be crafted. Sorry, no uberloot! Just the same old weapons everyone else has. Go on the bazaar and you'll find a zillion newb weapons selling for nothing because the economy is already trashed and the max you can sell for on the bazaar is 10k. Bleah.

This game is ultragay, so if you're a pole smoker, this is your place! You can either cover a rake handle in KY and jam it up your ass or play this game. The result is the same.

This game is the most foul, steaming pile of shit that I ever paid 50 bucks to step in, and I LIKED EQ. This game makes EQ look like the most revolutionary piece of software to come along in years. To begin with, character development involves massive, pointless time-sinks like surveying and harvesting fucking resources. Is this a MMORPG or a RTS? Let me just be perfectly clear here for those of you who don't have a firm grasp of the language: HARVESTING RESOURCES IS NOT FUN. Even if you do decide to start down the long, frustrating road to becoming a melee class and forsake the frustration of building shit, your average game session goes something like this: Log in. Find a mission terminal. Take a mission to destroy the habitat of some poor, endangered wildlife. Run for 20 minutes to get there (this is supposed to be Star Wars...Where are the fucking land speeders and shit?). Kill all the cows/birds/bunnies in the area and destroy their home. Run 20 minutes back. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. And when I say repeat, I mean REPEAT. You would have to do this literally Hundreds of times just to get your character to a level where you may actually get to do something interesting. Which is kind of a moot point, because from what I've seen there IS nothing interesting to do. No sense of adventure, no engaging social interaction, no uber loot to drool over and dream of being high level enough to one day acquire yourself. Nothing. Nada. The control scheme is needlessly complex and counter-intuitive. I really, really wanted to like this game. I tried very hard to like this game. Even with that little voice in the back of my head telling me it was the WORST MMORPG EVER. I still kept going back to it, trying to find some redeeming quilities. There are none. If you are considering buying this game, take 50 bucks out of your wallet, light it on fire, and shove it up your ass. It's less painful than forking it over to the clerk at Electronics Boutique for this bullshit non-game.

The HymenatorSep 24, 2003 at 10:04AM

Yoo STFU-IPwnJ00UberN00bs, and Jee'ka.......SWG buttfuckers-Good, I'll stay out of yours, you stay out of mine. I quit SWG before the trial month was up because I had MUCH better supported and Ultimately FUN games to play. By the way, do u really believe that FPS games don't take skill? Contraire butt sluts, Why you are taking your time being all gay and intellectual with ur little mmporg's and wasting ur time, Us FPS'ers are busy mad blastin fools at games like BF42'-Desert Combat and Halo and gettin mean hand/eye and quick thought skills- I'm seriously not bragging, but I make the top 3 players ranking every match, no matter what FPS i play. I also drive a new 02' mustang I won at a halo tourney for #1 player out of 3000. Now that takes skill fools, and I work hard at it too. This shit's on the edge of your seat, not running away plinking away a homo-erotic space creatures with little zap guns-and harvesting bullshit-

SWG graphics? Well done. The creatures are cool. SWG has Superb graphics on my 9800 pro 256 ddr2- but the rest of it is still so Gahdaaam BOOOOOORRRING- You dont even make REALISTIC contact with weapons in battle- WTF? It doesn't represent SW like it should. Ya know, missions are also such a waste of time and also too prone to glitches as well. SWG is just a big chat room where all hope to unlock the jedi or find a gigantic horned dragon with their hunting party, but hundreds of dollars and hours later, very, very few players will ever see them--which is IMO very lame...... Oh well, ur all entitled to whatever opinion. Just remember, to all those who think they're runnin things out there, i'm sprintin' the 500 dash, snappin' crosshairs to their mofuckin' domes............

The HymenatorSep 24, 2003 at 10:10AM

I guess your all to bussy play SWG...LOL, the servers only have problems every few weeks now, and the grafix AND gameplay are awsome compared to any online game there is. You guys just needeed to wait a bit. Every online game has a rough start.... see ya ingame

SWG PWNS J00. SWG is t3h 1337.

SWGdoesSuckOct 13, 2003 at 8:18PM

SWG is a poorly planed, poorly designed Goatfck. Joo u must be a kissass fanboi. Take you eqspeak to eq. I have accomplished many of the tasks laid out in SWG. Achieving masters in several elite professions. (multiply chars so dont start with the Skill point shit). If you dont realize this all the missions are the same. Go here kill that. Over over over. There is really no loot or anything interesting to pick up. I think the devs are back tracking on some of this (THank God) hence the recent application of more worthless loot. Fanbois I know of the armor segments and Kryat tissue samples. These far and few between drops are a gimp effort.

Here is my main Take. SWG is a piss poor excuse for a game. This game should have stayed on the drawing board for another year or two. Q and Holo suck up your pride and implement some of the things that made EQ cool. Quest (other than gays ass Themepark or monthly story). SWG puts way to much burden on players. One char per server so If you want to try a new char or skill tree you must leave that galaxy. Do this to stop twinking??? why Go out and buy a house for 5k or a t21 from a player that is pissed of at SWG or changing servers for free. Poof there you go. SWG has made gimp attempts to make this game casual player friendly. This makes sense for you cause if a guy will pay a monthly few and play 5 hours a month, you'll make just as much off him as the guy who plays 40. Just the guy who plays 40 will realize how bad this game sucks much quicker. WTF with the no attribute improvement over experence? A enhanced Newb can have 2.5X the number of hps a max level char has. Granted he cant hit as hard but he can last longer in grief play. Crap Typing fast. Gotta run SWG sucks ass right now we will see when the Pay-for-Beta period is over (july 2005). Shouldnt have released the game till it was ready. Fucking joke

JalickoOct 16, 2003 at 12:52AM

I've been playing for a little over a month now. My character is almost at the Master Marksman level and I have joined up with the imperial faction. However, at the same time - I am just plain getting bored. It's like the previous posts said - you log in, find a mission terminal, walk 20 minutes, kill a few enemies, walk 20 minutes back to the terminal and repeat.

There is no Star Wars feel to the game other than the looks. I walk around the Cantinas and see people using non-RPG terms like "COOL", "LOL", "EXPERIENCE POINTS", etc. It really is just kind of like a big graphical chat room. You do not even have to be close to anybody in order to talk to them - you just use the TELL command to send a message to ANYONE ANYWHERE in the game - I mean, how fake and stupid is that? And let's not forget some of the most awesome names that some of the players go by: "DOPE-MAN", "COOLGUYLUKE", "YOMAMA JUMAMAMA" - it just completes that wonderful Star Wars genre. There are no standards when it comes to enforcing role-playing.

The lag is horrible, everytime I walk into the Cantina - if there are like 10 other people in there, my screen just comes to a screeching halt and begins chopping like crazy. I think the thing that pisses me off the most in this game is when I pull out my rifle, get back about 60 meters from 5 enemies and I click on the attack button and before I even get 1 shot off, one of the enemies will magically WARP to within melee distance of me and start attacking me while I am lying prone on the ground.

I agree 100% that the looting of your enemies is totally pointless, because whatever you pick up - it's worthless (You cannot sell it to NPC's or to other players).

The PVP is also completely stupid - when you become a Commando or Bounty Hunter, etc - you get access to weapons that are just plain ridiculous compared to the other weapons in the game. For example, this evening I was on Naboo in Theed and two Rebel pros were running around killing Imperial players. I thought "Why not, have a little fun." I went and declared myself and OVERT member of the imperial faction and pulled out my T21 rifle. I entered the fighting zone and got on the ground and targeted one of the rebels. Within seconds, I was "blinded" for no reason, it just said "You are having trouble seeing". The rebel came within range of me and I clicked "attack" - 2 seconds later I was incapacited before I could even fire one shot. And of course, the guy then came up and finished me off. I'm fine with losing a battle, but I had FULL health, no wounds or anything and the guy was able to just drop me like I was some pissant fly when I am just about to become a Master Marksman. Kind of makes me wonder why I am spending all this time improving my skills when all that really seems to matter is that you gain ranks so you can become certified in the better weapons.

The bazaar is loaded with a bunch of lame noob weapons which is cool when you are a noob and don't know any better. But you soon learn that your skill is irrelevant in the big picture. What matters is being able to use the more powerful weapons. They cleverly devised a way to keep the powerful weapons out of the hands of noobs by dramatically lowering the damage if you are not "certified" in that weapon. The failure here is that - the designers made your skill with a weapon not nearly as important as the damage caused by your weapon. A better design would be to make the character's skill have a much larger effect than the damage of the weapon. Poor design decision.

I also started laughing at the other post where the guy was talking about how there are rebel recruiting centers in Mos Eisley which is so funny because it is so true. You don't have to search out hidden rebel bases in this game, they have recruiting centers right out in the open! Kind of takes away from the Star Wars feel doesn't it?

Also, when you join either the REBELS or the IMPERIALS - you have the option to set your status as a COVERT or OVERT member. Here's what it translates into:
COVERT MEMBER: I am too much of a pussy that an opposing faction member will PLAYER KILL ME, so I want to keep my status hidden.
OVERT MEMBER: I am willing to fight anyone who challenges me.

So, we can all see how this goes right? The only people who walk around with their affiliation showing are people looking to fight. I feel that if you join an affiliation then you should be willing to accept PvP wherever it my arise, but to please all the whiners who will cry wehenever they get PK'd - they made it so you can be a chicken-shit and hide your affiliation.

The traveling system is also totally stupid - you buy a ticket at a starport and then stand in front of a protocol droid double-clicking over and over again until the ship finally shows up after a countdown. Once the ship arrives, you don't board it or anything and actually travel somewhere - you just double click the protocol droid and select your destination from a list. It then just WARPS you over to that location, rather than making you feel like you have actually traveled somewhere.

Also, the naming scheme along with titles just doesn't work. I have played the game for a month now and met a lot of people in it, but if I sit back and think about it - I CANNOT remember the name of a single person whom I have casually met up with. It's just too complicated - instead of just showing you the person's first name, we have to see a FIRST and LAST followed by TITLE! So imagine what it looks like when you walk into a Cantina - you have JHUJGHOAB HASGIURB (MASTER SHARPSHOOTER) standing next to YUTAHJA POLOUTXA (EXPERT SHARPSHOOTER), standing next to PLAOSTO HAGVEU (MASTER ENTERTAINER) etc. You get the idea - the entire room just turns into a big cluster fuck of names and pointless titles. A better idea would be to leave out the titles and last names, only have them show up when people double click on you for details. I know the vain players out there feel good about themselves having that MASTER WHATEVER show up next to them, but come on already. It just makes everything a big mess.

This is my first graphical MMORPG, I used to play a lot of TEXT MUDS and the main difference that I have found here is that in Star Wars Galaxies - the one thing that CONSUMES everyone is EXP EXP EXP - EXP for this, EXP for that. I have found that in more of the text MUDS there is always much more of a focus on role-playing, adventuring, and getting to know other people. Maybe this phenomenon is local to SWG, but it just seems like a lot of multi-player gaming enjoyment is lost when everyone is out doing their own thing in this QUIXOTIC and COMPULSIVE quest to GET MORE EXP points.

I also agree that there has been some bad planning in the design of this game because it is really just not all the much fun. I am debating whether or not to cancel my account. I'll probably give myself another month or two, but if I am still bored at that time - I will be bidding farewell to the galaxies.

ThisGameIsSoCoolOct 16, 2003 at 1:45PM

Yeeah!!! I am having so much fun playing this game. I just love dancing around all day, doing the same old dance every day, 60 times a minute for 60 minutes for 24 hours. Amazing! I am so much addicted to it, I can't even think how good this game is. It is so much like a real job! And making items that nobody buys .. Hey! Whats wrong with the market nowadays? Why nobody wants to buy? How come no one's playing anymore? Maybe because they're is so much action going on! Like killing the same critters over and over and over and over and over again. Or running aimlessly... Hey, don't you guys find it FUN to the same thing repetitevely? And that these things are the most exciting things to do?

Ah! No! I have to return to my real job now.... Having two jobs is so fun... Why would anyone need a vacation?

JalickoOct 18, 2003 at 9:41PM

Just cancelled my subscription to SWG this evening. It was worth the original 50.00 given all the time I spent playing it, but there is something about the game that is just not really striking me as fun anymore. Good luck to the rest of ya.

Oh, and it sucks. Yes. Nuff said there.

Well, we all have our opinions. The Star Wars Galaxy game could've been better after what I hear about it. If the servers are not up 24/7 then thats a waist of money right there. But some of you guys are over-reacting. The storyline is cool, like all the other Star Wars game, I know it crashes alot and there may not seem like alot to do, but guys thats MMORPG for ya. All online games have a slow start, even though galaxies might have been a little too slow, but they get much better. You people who brought the game, played it a little, didn't like it, and returned it are acting like idiots? If people did that with every game you got, I guarentee you would only have a couple out of the millions of video games out there. Games start out slow, but get so freakin awesome as you go along, thats the fun of many types of games. Overall, if you like star wars, online rpg's, don't mind paying 15 bucks a month or waiting for better server versions, and have a good computer then chances are you'll like the game a hell of alot. But if your a person who I mentioned before, play the game for 5 minutes and hate it, or have a bad PC and are extremely impatient then chances are you may not like it. In any case, there are thousands, if not millions, of people that absolutely love Galaxies. You definitely shouldn't blame George Lucas himself if you don't like the game, he only made the movies, I don't think he's in charge of the games. And don't blame Lucasarts and
Sony, because with every MMORPG, there are tons of game experts working to make the game more enjoyable for you with the simple 15 bucks a month that alot of guys are wining about. Good luck to Lucasarts and that you guys can continue making great Star Wars games.

Screw you Lucas! Screw you and your money-grubbing weasel-pandering bastard of an organization that steals money from Star Wars fans as surely as if it were at gunpoint! You retards at LucasArts and the rest of the SWG 'support community' need to suck my sweaty salty left nut; SWG is a massive joke, inflicting massive pain on the MMORPG community. Please do us all a favor and piss off and...wait, what's that noise downstairs? Someone's breaking in! OH GOD, IT'S LUCAS' STORMTROOPERS! THEY'VE COME TO GET ME! I AM WRITING THIS IN THE HOPES THAT YOU, MY BROTHERS, WILL CONTINUE THE FIGHT - DOWN WITH THE SATANIC LUCASARTS CORPORATION AND OH SHIT THEY'RE CO

Death is never pretty. Nor is cleaning blood off of a keyboard. Please do not make Mr. Lucas angry anymore; it always ends up with us having to clean someone up.

Wow, The Hymenator, you're just one baaaaaaad muthafucka, ain't ya? We're all just gosh-darned impressed that you talk like a wigger and probably play like one too. You HALO fanbois should turn down your Backstreet Boys CD in the background and stop masterbating to erotic Halo/Cortana fan fiction, because you're giving gaming a reeeeeeeeel bad name. While you're at it, if you could spare a moment from building your Gundam Wing models and playing with yourself while watching Sailor Moon long enough (I think you said "sprintin' the 500 dash, snappin' crosshairs to their mofuckin' domes", but we all know what you REALLY mean), maybe you can get some patience and learn how to play a real game.

I know, I know, remembering things longer than 15 seconds is a fucking stretch, and it's doubtful you could find the United States on a globe of the world along with 75% of your fellow high-school classmates, but what the hell, you're driving a '02 Mustang with a coffee-can muffler and a two-foot spoiler that simply shouts "HEY WORLD! I HAVE A SMALL DICK AND I LOVE TO PLAY HALO!"

Neil ArmstrongDec 30, 2003 at 1:35PM

Hi everyone. You're no doubt wondering why you haven't heard from me in so long. Well, it's because YOU LEFT ME ON THE FUCKING MOON. I'm still up here! Why, I've probably lost billions of dollars in commercials and lecture tours by now. Goddammit.

Adolf HitlerDec 30, 2003 at 1:37PM

I feel your pain, Neil. I've lost the adoration of billions as well. Over a few lousy ovens and an invasion here and there.

Supreme Court Justice Thurgood MarshallJan 01, 2004 at 12:18AM

I like to fart on airplanes. The seat cushions absorb most of the sound and the smell too. The worst place to fart is on a church pew, although if you lean to one side you can let one rip without much problem. But damn, the absolute worst place to fart is on a metal folding chair. Christ, it sounds like you're doing duck calls in Echo Canyon.

ACJan 01, 2004 at 12:23AM

So I drive around a coupla hours and hoot at some tightassed broads, then catch a nap behind the convenience store. Later, I light my farts with a lighter I swiped from some gook newsstand. Maybe I'll take a few beers down to the Y too; some kids'll do anything for a six pack.

But that's my job...I'm a cop.

Whats interesting to note is that most of the comments against this worthless excuse for a MMORPG are fairly coherent, while the ones that sing its praises are amazingly disjointed, rude and indicative of our nations need to impress the importance of spelling on our school children. Seriously folks, we are bashing an extrremely BAD game, not the people who play it. So by all means defend the game if you feel the need, but don't bash the people who hate it. It makes you all sound stupid and slightly out of touch. Although, if you actually continued to pay for this steaming pile of shit for more than a couple months, then I guess you all ARE stupid and out of touch. SO FUCK YOU IN THE LEFT EYE SOCKET! The game is a trap for witless inbeciles like you! Morons too wrapped up defending an inferior product to actually try out and maybe experience a game that has some depth! I have to assume those of you mouthing off the most in this shitty games defense have never tried anything else. Or you started the game early, powergamed after school and through the weekends to mac a few stats and now feel you are L33T!!! I got news for you though, if you are the KING of the sewer, you still reign over SHIT! Thats all I have to say my faithfull thralls! Keep presenting your bare, upraised asses to your Sony masters and maybe they will FORCE sensitive up in ya! bwahaha

George Lucas' Lawyer and Lead AssasinJan 13, 2004 at 3:33PM

Interesting how "Viceroy's Smithy, Chesapeake shard, Ultima Online" manages to lay out a shit stain of an explanation that he couldn't help to replicate within his 30-day-old underwear.

Pursuant to Paragraph 2304(c), according to the Penal Code of George Lucas, one may not use the word "shit" when describing anything regarding Star Wars. Punishment is anything from being de-resonated into an ongoing Star Wars Galaxy server and getting eaten by a bantha.

Pursuant to Paragraph 6301 (a), according to the Penal Code of George Lucas, one may not "fuck in the left eye socket" any fan of Star Wars. This carries a penalty of death by Jawa sex.

Finally, pursuant to Paragraph 1101(r), according to the Penal Code of George Lucas, one may not mention the word "mac" or "L33T" within 50 yards of any Star Wars Galaxies forum. This carries a penalty of getting laid by Princess Leia, but her in a suit of rusty razor blades.

I just bought the game about a week ago and am already bored of it. It's worth about $2 a month and thats pushing it.

ShigFeb 07, 2004 at 3:07AM

This game is a steaming pile of old dog shit dipped in the vomit of an old dying rancor... The gameplay is eh.. ok... but JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!! CAN WE HAVE ANY MORE FUCKING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUCKING SERVERS? HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I have never seen so many unscheduled downtimes and heavy crashes in my entire fucking life... and i have played the game for a GOD DAMN MONTH! Whats worse is the fucking CSR's in the chat that tell you, just try again in 30 minutes, when they fucking know the server is gonna be down for 5 fucking hours... Fuck this bullshit, forward this fucking page to God damn customer service if they want the fucking truth...

I signed up for the Beta3 test, and got picked! I was so excited! Then they made me pay SHIPPING AND HANDLING for the discs, which was like $10 or $15 if you wanted them fast. THEN, after you give them your address and credit card, they give you the link where you could download the beta installer! They took me! Oh, I was steamed! And then, the game was just slow and boring. But I kept playing, assuming over the next few months they'd make some great improvements. After all, it was Beta, right? And a couple weeks later, they said "OK, thanks! We're going live tomorrow!" I couldn't believe they were going to charge people for the game in that condition. I never bought it, thank the Maker.

BURN SOE BURN SOE BRUN SOE, WHO'S WITH ME!!!!!!!!!

WoW AnticipationMar 06, 2004 at 1:39AM

I kinda liked SWG at first. That's because I'm a huge star wars fan, and I had hyped it up in my mind so much that I was taken in by the graphics and the fact that it was a mmorpg that had to do with Star Wars!!!!11one1 But, at the end of the first free month, I said, one more month... I was close to making it to commando on a decent character. Then... I just kept saying one more month... maybe it will get better, one more month.... And five months later, I canceled my account, feeling thoroughly violated and sick at the money and time I had heaped upon this void of a game. It looks fairly pretty. And it has Star Wars stuff in it. That's it.
-The Lag: Terrible, if you ever do ANYthing that involves other players, bam 3fps... And the ludicrous effects of some of the weapons-- the commando Launcher Pistol's only attack was /slayframerate, and it was only good for letting you get away while your enemies in PvP recovered from all that lag. Next...
-PvP: Useless. Pistoleers>Flavor of the Month>All. Pistoleers: Guess which class ALL the devs play?? Yup, you got it. Gues which class is easily the best and least broken.... that's right, you got it again! FotM:Every monthly patch brought heinous nerfs (and buffs to the pistoleers)... and one lucky class was suddenly uber. So all the pistoleers would go out and get that class(since pistoleer was cheap in terms of skill points), and then they would be the aforementioned one hit wonder classes.
-Quests: What quests? There are mission terminals... get cookie cutter assignment... spend 15 minutes completing cookie cutter assignment. Get modest exp and modest cash. Repeat. Cool stuff from quests? That is, decent loot or even just cool looking display loot? Nah. A couple quests have some sort of item reward, but, those are often bugged, and sometimes the only way to keep the item is to short circuit the quest. Bah.
-Monsters/NPC fighters: Useless, poorly named... poorly rated in terms of difficulty. I could kill things that were "certain death" in droves at times, and at other times I would get hopelessly pwnt by single marauding "fair fights." Plus... any imperial or rebel npc is hopelessly overpowered. One Stormie can take down a whole slew of newbs with blasters. Flame if you like, but even Leia took down a stormtrooper in her formal gown with a piddly blaster in IV. Stormtroopers win by meat grinder tactics, not by being *ludicrously* elite. To further that, a good bounty hunter or commando should be able to kill a few stormies on his own(think IV Han Solo vs. Death Star's COmplement of ST's.) Not so here... but I digress.
-Galactic Civil War: Enough has been said previously on this. its stupid and removes any immersion there might have been before.
I've run out of steam, its late, there are many other things I would like to rag on about this game, but not now.
Don't buy it, buy WoW.

Why are all starwars games so lame??Mar 08, 2004 at 7:19AM

FUCK ANY GAME THAT MAKES YOU SIT THROUGH CINAMATICS BEFOR YOU CAN PLAY. EVERY TIME YOU PLAY. FUCK NOT BEING ABLE TO KILL AN NPC AND STEAL ITS WEAPON. FUCK NOT BEING ABLE TO ATTACK WHO YOU WANT WHEN YOU WANT. I don't like "RPGs" that make decisions for me. These losers should take a lesson from Blizzard, or Origin.
