I definitely have played against him and can honestly say he is the best player for his age that I have ever seen play the game. I am seventeen and play for a premier team and Region 1 ODP team in Virginia. We played against the U-17 National Team in Texas and lost to them 3-1 with me scoring our goal and Freddy scoring two and assisting the other. It's amazing to watch him play. He made me fall over twice and burned me numerous times. I actually did win the ball about three times, but I am nothing compared to him. Add that to the fact that I am 17 and he is 13 makes it even worse, but whatever. Congratulations to him and good luck with whatever he does and how far he gets in the wonderful world of soccer.

He does have skill, but dont you guys have off days, i played against him we are good friends, but his kick isnt too powerful...I dont know about you guys, but height and weight is an advantage. ALL OF YOU GUYS HATING ON FREDDY ARE JUST JEALOUS OF HIM BECAUSE HE MAKES YOU GUYS LOOK DUMB IN THE GAME... I PLAYED(I PLAY FORWARD) AGAINST FREDDY THIS PAST DALLAS CUP... NOT ONLY IS THE KID 13, HE CAN FINISH WITH THE BEST OF THEM, HE CAN FINISH WITH HIS HEAD, ON A BREAK, AND A VOLLY... THIS KID WAS A RARE ONE FREDDY BURNT OUR DEFENCE, TIME AFTER TIME (THANK GOD WE HAVE A GOOD GOLIE TO KEEP US IN THE GAME)... FREDDY IS A GREAT PLAYER INSTED OF TALKING TRASH ABOUT HIM, YOU SHOULD BE OUTSIDE PRACTING FOR THE NEXT TIME YOU FACE HIM IN A MATCH... THAT WAY YOU HAVE MORE OF A CHANCE

yo man yall are crazy, that boy is sick man, i dont see me or any of yall with a Nike Contract, i think he will be one of the worlds elite by 16 or 17 going overseas to a big european team. Whether It's heading to london to join Sir Alex Furguson and the red devils of manchester united or even heading to italy and signing with a team from milan, he will be a big success. I have nothing against the MLS i watch it all the time and enjoy it but i think his skill will grow even faster overseas and he will get to play against the worlds elite, then we can finally make our final opinions. Take care

SOCCER KIDJun 05, 2003 at 8:37AM

THATS RIGHT FREDDY IS OUTSTANDING... YOU HAVE TO AGREE WITH (Cdub) HE WILL BE AN ELITE PLAYER BYE 16 OR 17... HE WILL MOST LIKELY SIGN WITH INTER... THEN WE WILL HELP USA WIN THERE FIRST WORL CUP IN 2006 ON GERMANY OR 2010... FREDDY IF YOU READ THIS GODD LUNK WITH YOUR FUTURE IN TTHE GREAT GAME OF SOCCER... AND HELP THE YOU TO A WORLD CUP WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like i have mentioned before Freddy will not ony sign with a big european team but i willput my money on it that he will be playing in germany 2006, now about winning the cup in 2006 it seems like there is still work to be done, but i think by 2010 united states will definetley prosper, especially with many upcoming talent in the works. Back to what jordan jara said about there are better and younger players in brazil, you may be right, but there is so much hype about freddy because the united states have neve seen a greater talent thenm him, that is why big deals are being made, not taking away from landon donovon, demarcus beasley, or bobby convey, its just freddy is better at 13 then most MLS payers, that has to mean greatness. Write some thoughts down anybody. take care

Saw this fellow freddy the other on TV. And my many years of playing follow up soccoer (football), we should thank the gods of the sport for dopping another Soccer King in our mist (first was Pele of course). this fellow is doing things on the field that even the first King, Pele, nor his recent contemporaries could do. A freak show in 2003!!! Nike now i see why you somehow have stay ahead of your competitor. Who gave the eyes and sense of the Three Wise Men from the east? Instead of us getting all humanly jealous and silly, let's nuture and support this devine gift so as to enjoy briliance and beauty of the human spirit in this new generation.

Canadian eh!Jul 11, 2003 at 8:51PM

if this guy can make soccer bigger in the USA then we will all benefit. And if the USA is a better than England by 2010 then I win $10 from my neighbor.
Go Freddy Go

I never seen the guy played in my life, but by the way everyone in the news is talking about him, he sounds like a promising kid to become a great soccer player. Besides he is good because he wasn't born here if he did. uhhhh he probably be as bad as the next door kid. all the people that are talking against him seems to me that you tried to be the best at this sport, but you forgot one thing it takes more than just knowing how to play the game you also have to love it. hope to see him play in the world cup and finally put this country in the newspapers in the world. GO GERMANY 2006 "hope u win USA"

You're a serious asshole if you're going to post stupid messages online putting down Freddy Adu's skill. Puhlease! Don't talk about his size, the fact that he can't kick powerfully...does it matter anymore? I don't think so. Just think of him being on the USA team as a positive thing, he'll make the US team more victorious.
