Silkscreen, a small, easy-to-read, aliased typeface I created, was profiled in an article in the April 2001 issue of ID Magazine, a highly-regarded design publication. Silkscreen is available for free on my site and has been used by MTV, Herman Miller, Sephora, Adobe, Volvo, and Britney Spears.

Web Design 100, Featured Site
0sil8, one of my personal web sites, was included in the book Web Design 100 as one of the 100 best designed sites on the web. The sites for Web Design 100 were compiled by Kinotrope, a leading Japanese design firm.

2000 5K Award Contest, Judge
As a judge for the 5K Award Contest, I looked at hundreds of tiny sites (each under 5K in size) and tried to determine which one was the best. It was a difficult task.

1999 AIGA MN Design Show Award, Website/Interactive
B-Swing won a Gold Award for the NetRadio.com web site at the 1999 AIGA MN Design Show.

2000 Webby Award Nomination, Personal Category
Kottke.org, one of my personal web sites, was nominated for a 2000 Webby Award in the Personal category. Alas, I did not win.

1999 SXSW Interactive Festival Web Competition Winner, Best Personal Site
0sil8, one of my personal web sites, was voted the best personal web site in the Web Awards Competition at the 1999 SXSW Interactive Festival.

Web 98 Cool Site in a Day Contest, Art Director
I was art director for the East Coast team in the Cool Site in a Day Contest at the Web 98 conference. We developed the Hospitality House web (http://www.hospitalityhouse.org) site in eight hours, winning the contest in the process.
