Top 100 Bay Area restaurants

Top 100 Bay Area restaurants. I was fortunate enough to dine at several of these places in my two years there.

Too bad Elisabeth Daniel closed. Does anybody know why?

I´ve been to several of the places on that list and I agree for the most part. A couple of discrepancies: Delfina was too noisy and a little overpriced. La Taqueria is not bad but Cancun's burritos (Mission @19th) are far superior. Thep Phanom has some unusual and interesting Thai dishes but I wouldn't put in in the top 100.

Jardiniere and The Fifth Floor are excellent (oh, the good old dot com days) and strongly recommended for a special occasion.

Out of 100 top restaurants in the Bay Area, and only 11 of them are in the Albany-Berkeley-Oakland area? Pshaw. They missed Zachary's, Tachibana, Hong Kong East Ocean, Venezia, Juan's, our own Cancun (different from the one in the Mission), and hardly last but definitely not least, Scott's Seafood in Jack London Square.

Amber India made the list? My gf and I both got food poisoning the first and only time we tried to eat there. And we were eating vegitarian food. To give someone food poisioning from vegitarian food you really have to fuck up bad.

Most people I know consider Empress of India to be the top Indian place in the bay area...
