Swarm

Swarm  (13 of 20)

While sea kayaking in the bay on Nantucket, Meg and I decided to land the boats and hike across the narrow peninsula to the ocean side. About 30 feet into the grassy area, Meg yells at me that my back is covered with mosquitos. We turned and ran back to the bay, sunglasses and sandals flying as we dove into the water. Meg took this photo of my back about 20 minutes later; she counted over 30 bites on my back and arms from 10-15 seconds of exposure.

This photo belongs to an album called Summer 2005, 05/2005-09/2005. Explore more photos on kottke.org.
