Designing GUIs vs. designing for Web browsers  AUG 04 1999

An interesting read from Tog about designing GUIs vs. designing for Web browsers. Basically he says that designing applications using the existing HTML standard is difficult and the results are less than spectacular. He also mentions a couple reasons why users and developers alike should discard Netscape's browser in favor of Microsoft's (I agree).
