Many complained about this season of Six

Many complained about this season of Six Feet Under, but I really liked it (after a bit of a slow start).

Agreed. I thought last night's episode was fantastic; letting Nate have some closure, setting up three plot lines for next season (Claire, Ruth and Rico), and giving for once giving David the last word and the chance to commune with pops.

But man -- that elevator thing was gross.

how about some spoiler notice? I went to that article and the first sentence f'd some stuff up for me.

no worries.

The article says that "David and Jake (his abductor) did have sex, gay sex, all those weeks ago." Uh, I may be mistaken, but they didn't have sex. Wasn't that one of David's fantasies/hallucinations? I thought SFU was just OK this season, and agree that it was too melodramatic.

Yeah, I think you're right.

Katie, that part of the article totally threw me too. It's weird they based their argument that gay sex doesn't lead to death or deathly monogomy on something that didn't even happen.

Anyway, I thought this season of SFU started spectacularly well. It was refreshing, I thought, after last season (which I really deplored) to finally let go of Lisa. I really hated her character (which, I think, we were supposed to). The whole Nate being mopey over Lisa thing got under my skin at seasons's start, but there was a point where it seemed to be ancient history. Then, of course, it crept back into the picture.

I thought last night's denouement with the brother-in-law was totally unearned--it was superficially satisfying, sure, but it didn't push the show forward, it tied up a loose end from a whole season back. I think the Nate thread of this season kind of sucked; he was stuck in last season and never went anywhere new. The other characters, however, did go new places--both terrifying (David) and exhilerating (Claire)--and their part of the show worked for me.

And that's my 45 cents.

I absolutely loved last night's ending. The brother in law scene was pitch perfect.
