hmm. yes, interesting article, saw it a while back. my take on this is that i am creating a system called the "village model" that uses some of the things put forth in this paper. essentially it is looking at what people have to do with each other - say the traders / service providers in a village and the market. the traders will have something to do with each other and some have more to do with each other than others. using a similar "ontology" i hope to automate and find where similiarities lie between traders or groups and given a trader, predict who their complementary would be.
